Awkwafina began as an American musician and rapper releasing sly tracks that tackled issues such as racial and sexual identity with a comedic twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood the singer had the opportunity to release a number of songs. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was in the form of the trumpet.
